Choosing the right Urn or Keepsake

If you opt for Cremation then you are going to require an Urn, Casket or Scatter Tube depending on what you plan to do with the ashes in the future. Below are just a few examples of the types of things that are available, if you require more information then please Contact Us.

Urns

If you wish to keep your loved ones ashes close to you as an everlasting memory then an urn seems like the best option for you. However, if perhaps you change your mind at a later date, then an urn can also be buried. 

There are a number of different types of urns available, the most popular being metal, however Brass, Pewter and Cloisonné enamel Urns are also available. 

Caskets

The most common use for a Caskets is burial, perhaps at a family grave or Garden of Rest, however Caskets are also an option if you wish to keep your loved ones ashes close. 

Caskets can be made out of a variety of materials, and come in a vast number of designs, the most common being wood, however Wicker and other biodegradable materials are becoming increasingly popular.

Scatter Tubes

If you plan to scatter your loved ones ashes in a favourite location of theirs, or in a place of many happy memories then you will be needing a scatter tube. 

To give you an idea we have included some examples of the types of designs featured on Scatter Tubes below. You can, however, design your own making it extremely personal.

Keepsakes & Jewellery

If perhaps you plan to bury the ashes then it is a good idea to retain a small amount of the ashes in a keepsake or in an item of Jewellery. Keepsakes are also an idea if you plan to split the ashes between the children/ other relatives of the deceased.

Keepsakes come in a number of different forms, most commonly as miniature urns, held in a case. However you can also get keepsakes in the form of ornaments which too, are a lasting memory of your loved one.
